Hillary's Bruce Willis Syndrome
by Dylan LoeweThe last week in March was, with little doubt, one of the most trying for the Clinton campaign. Her quest to gain superdelegates was blunted by Bob Casey and Bill Richardson, two major party players who have clearly recognized the writing on the wall. The core of her experience rationale was called into question when it was revealed that, on multiple occasions, Hillary had dramatically exaggerated her experience landing in war-torn Bosnia. It was also revealed that she had almost nothing to do with the SCHIP program she claimed to have created, with a number of those involved describing her accounts as straining credulity. She still hasn't released her tax returns, without explanation or justification and, she was quoted as taking credit for lobbying for the Family Medical Leave Act's passage, though it had passed the House and Senate before her husband took office.
Satire: I’m Just Missayin’
by Ed Naha (aka M. Kane Jeeves)Man, did I have a tough morning. I went outside to get the newspaper and, from out of nowhere, seven samurai, Bushido blades shimmering, attacked. Pulling an AK-47 out of my bathrobe I mowed them down. Sensing more danger, I whirled as the legendary Golden Gorilla of Oingo-Boingo swung down from a tree, fangs bared. I dispatched it with the grenade I carry in my skivvies for just such an occasion. Grabbing the newspaper, I spotted terrorist leader Ali-Ali Oxenfree closing in for the kill. Unsheathing my scimitar, I beheaded him near the petunias. I then, made it back into the house, discovering D.B. Cooper, alive and well, en route.
Bush’s Legacy Leads to Iran: Will Clinton or Obama Make Any Difference? Will You?
by Heather WokuschThe lack of oversight characterizing both the Bush administration and crony capitalism have bankrupted the U.S. and created the need for perpetual war. It’s unclear if November 2008 will change anything or if we can even wait that long.
Third American War Crime in the Making

The Great American Disconnect
by Jon FaulknerAmericans seem to have accepted dysfunctional government as unavoidable. Another president, another congress will soon come to power. Amid the noise, the blaring trumpets, the delirium that ushers another president into office, is the quiet acceptance that whatever the new guy does it won’t be done for ordinary Americans. During the Bush Administration, many Americans have been innocently unaware of the quiet, insidious changes that were calculated into their lives. Some like to think the next president will restore the Constitutional Rights that were taken from them. They are fully aware that the Bush Administration has taken an ax to the foundations of democracy. They’ll look hopefully to the new president to restore those rights, and put things back. But there are some things that once they are gone can’t be brought back.
God Damn America, Land That I Love…
by Jerome DoolittleThe sad thing about the attacks on Senator Obama for things said by his wife and by his pastor is that attention was paid to them by anyone except Jon Stewart. It was as if the senator were being pilloried for consorting with persons who claimed that grass is green, and — the horror, the horror! — that water even runs downhill.
